Global sales of PA66— the largest-volume high-performance nylon— surged 18% in Q1 2026 amid tight supply and strong automotive demand. However, massive new capacity coming online in Q2–Q3 2026 is expected to shift the market from shortage to surplus.
New ADN (hexanedinitrile) and PA66 plants in China will add 90,000 tons of ADN and 40,000 tons of PA66 capacity from May 2026. Prices are forecast to peak in April then fall 10–15% by June as supply eases.
Despite short-term volatility, long-term PA66 demand remains strong, with 15%+ annual growth expected in China as domestic material supply resolves historical bottlenecks.
