April 18, 2026 – The global sales of nylon (PA) engineering plastics maintained a steady growth momentum in the first quarter of 2026, supported by the booming development of the new energy vehicle industry and the continuous expansion of downstream applications. According to the latest market research data, the global sales volume of PA engineering plastics reached 1.23 million tons in Q1 2026, a year-on-year increase of 8.7%, and the sales revenue exceeded USD 4.2 billion, up 10.2% year-on-year.

Automotive electrification has become the core driver of PA sales growth. With the increasing demand for lightweight and high-performance components in new energy vehicles, the per-vehicle usage of modified nylon has increased to more than 22 kilograms, especially in 800V high-voltage platforms and battery pack structural parts, where the demand for high-heat-resistant and high-insulation PA materials has surged. The automotive sector contributed more than 45% of the global PA engineering plastics market increment in Q1, becoming the largest downstream application field.

In addition, the 5G communication, consumer electronics and industrial equipment sectors also provided strong support for PA sales. The demand for low-dielectric, miniaturized and green sustainable PA materials in these fields has promoted the optimization of product structure and driven the sales growth of high-value-added PA products. Industry insiders predict that with the continuous advancement of global industrial upgrading, the global PA engineering plastics sales will maintain a compound annual growth rate of 7.5% in the next five years.
