Global Nylon (PA) & High-Temperature Nylon Sales Surge in Q1 2026 on Cost & EV Demand

Publish Date: View: 0

Global sales of standard Nylon (PA6, PA66) and High-Temperature Nylon (HTN) engineering plastics jumped sharply in the first quarter of 2026, driven by rising raw material costs, global supply chain tightness, and accelerating demand from electric vehicles (EVs) and 5G electronics.

According to industry data, PA66 prices in China rose more than 39% in Q1 2026, with key intermediates like hexamethylenediamine up over 50%. Global HTN sales reached USD 2.7 billion in Q1 2026, growing at 12% year-on-year. The automotive sector accounts for over 45% of HTN demand, especially for EV battery components, wiring harnesses, and thermal management parts requiring heat resistance above 150°C.

Major producers including BASF, DuPont, and RadiciGroup implemented price increases of $150–200/ton for PA66 in early 2026. Analysts forecast stable high growth for HTN through 2030, with a CAGR of 7.5% as metal replacement in high-heat applications accelerates.
